We've got a lot here about flow measurement but nothing about
architecture. If you were looking for architectural information
on the squinch, this isn't your lucky day. However, you can find
some blurbs here
about what a squinch is.
If flow is your thing, we got lots to show you! For gas
measurement, go here. For liquid
measurement, go here. Really, please
do -- these two pages are 90% of what I have on the site thus far.
I've turned my computer into a PVR (another TLA, meaning "Personal
Video Recorder"). My computer is currently running Linux, specifically Fedora 8. Mythtv is a
nice suite of widgets put together into a package that lets you, say,
record all instances of "Mork & Mindy" or "The Daily Show with Jon
Stewart". That's right, my computer watches TV for me...
It'll go get your local TV listings for you , scour them for your
favourite shows and schedule them to be recorded. Then it'll mark
the commercials so I don't have to watch 'em. It uses mysql as a database backend and,
since my PVR capture cards are Hauppauge, I also use ivtv
for the drivers. The link below is really just there so I can
make sure the thing doesn't run out of disk space when I go out of
town. Yes, capturing TV does take a bit of disk
space!
zap2it used to provide mythtv users free xml TV listing info, but for some reason decided to stop (thanks though, it was a great service while it lasted). Now we pay a third party, Schedules Direct, a nominal fee of $20/year for these listings.

I also use my computer's spare cycles to cure cancer and stuff with the World Community Grid. Highly recommended!
